The thunderous waterfall is located in the Vatnajökull National Park that is the largest national park in Iceland. The speed of water thrown from this cascade is 193 cubic meters per second. The source of this waterfall is the same Jökulsá á Fjöllum River. You will get an amazing view of the rainbows formed through this huge waterfall. The sprays of water stream can be seen from miles away. This waterfall is popular for its power more than the appearance. This gigantic waterfall attracts a large number of travelers throughout the year. With 100 meters wide stream, it holds the reputation as the most voluminous waterfall in Iceland. Falling from a height of 45 meters, the Dettifoss waterfall is known to be the most powerful waterfall in Europe. You can also have a bowl of the soup-of-the-day (take away or at the table).Parking lot is on the main street, right in front of the hotel and next-door restaurant, no need to park at the back street.If you are traveling around the famous Diamond Circle then visit the Dettifoss waterfall. You'll find typical products + ready-made sandwiches + milk + cheese + skyrt / yoghurt etc. A very good bakery (bakarí) on the main street, around 100 m towards the centre and it opens at 7.30, which is very convenient. Water can be boiled in the room, there's some tea and coffee available. The place looks like a hotel but there's a very well equipped kitchen in the common area (plates, cups, pots, frying pans, cutlery, washing liquid etc).
